A few weeks after I got the two cacti, my husband started working at night. During this time, it was pretty difficult to talk to each other. We mostly talked over email. When I went over to his place, his room was pitch-black. He covered his window with black sheets of paper so he could sleep during the day. Then I saw the cacti. The one with the long leaves were like an upside-down octopus. The round one was so brown it might turn into sand with a slight touch. He kept the room so dark all the time, he didn’t even notice that the cacti were dead. It wasn’t so easy to take care of cactus after all. We never had one again.
