After my husband came back from his Korean exam, he brought this delicious cookie and cream ice cream cake. I turned 22, but he got candles for my Korean age. In Korea, we start counting age from 1. Some people say we do this because we consider the time in mother’s womb as age too but that’s not true. The history behind it is the counting system came from China a long time ago. Most countries that used to use this system got rid of it and started counting from zero. It became so deep in our culture we still use it for non-official purposes. Because of this, I’m sometimes younger than my husband and other times older than him. I always use this against him for my benefit.
